Hi GoTabbers!
Weddings, holiday parties, corporate outings, private buyouts — event season is here, and for many operators, private events are one of the highest-margin parts of the business, if the systems behind them can keep up.
In this issue, we're looking at how breweries like Other Half Brewing scale event revenue without losing margin to spreadsheets and email threads, showcasing two powerful integrations with Tripleseat and Reunion that are built to keep event bookings and your POS in sync, and reminding you about GoTab's indefinite rate lock guarantee.

Private events can be some of the most profitable business a venue does all year, but only if the systems behind them can keep up with demand.
Other Half Brewing, with eight locations across New York, Washington D.C., and Philadelphia, used to manage events the way many operators still do: details scattered across email threads, contracts built manually in Word, pricing worked out in spreadsheets, and follow-ups depending on someone remembering to send them.
A few practices made the difference as they scaled. Rather than inventing offerings, Other Half standardized what guests were already asking for — things like minimum spend reservations, open bar packages, and formats suited to each location. They price events based on opportunity cost, using minimum spends, peak-hour open bar packages, and space fees calculated from typical daily revenue, so private events don't cannibalize regular taproom business.
They also layer in experiential upsells: brewery tours, guided tastings, workshops, seasonal experiences, to turn standard bookings into premium ones. And they've learned when to decline a request that doesn't fit their staffing or space.
Tripleseat centralized their contracts, leads, and communication in one place, and its integration with GoTab automatically syncs line items, deposits, and inventory so staff stop re-entering data by hand and final bills match contracts exactly, with event revenue recognized on the actual event date instead of whenever a deposit happened to arrive.

As our Chief Growth Officer Mateen Habib wrote in a recent announcement, GoTab has held our core software pricing steady since 2023, even as we've continued investing in the platform. We're also offering eligible operators an indefinite rate lock on the processing margin GoTab controls — a cost-plus model that keeps outside cost changes visible instead of bundled in with a discretionary increase.
As event season ramps up bookings and volume, it's a good time to know that your rate isn't one of the variables you have to plan around.

GoTab now integrates with Reunion's private event management software, so confirmed events flow automatically from Reunion into GoTab, including guest counts, timing, host information, and internal notes, along with full banquet event order (BEO) line items for rentals, food and beverage, fees, and discounts. Service teams get complete event context directly in GoTab without switching systems, strengthening the handoff between event sales and service execution.

GoTab is the first POS to integrate with Tripleseat, the event management platform used by more than 18,000 venues. The integration automatically syncs deposits, bookings, and guest details from Tripleseat directly into GoTab's POS as event-day tabs, reducing manual errors, accelerating event-day checkout, and giving operators consistent, transparent tracking across event sales and deposits.

Standardized offerings, connected event platforms, and pricing you can plan around. None of it is flashy, but it's what lets a great event happen without anyone scrambling behind the scenes.
Whatever event season looks like for your venue, we hope these tools help you spend less time reconciling spreadsheets and more time hosting.
