Managed Network

Restaurant Wi-Fi That Keeps Your POS Online

GoTab Managed Network installs, secures and watches the network your tablets, handhelds, printers and kitchen screens run on. It switches to a backup connection automatically when your internet drops, turns guest Wi-Fi into a marketing channel, and shows it all in your GoTab Manager Dashboard.

PRODUCT OVERVIEW

What is GoTab Managed Network?

GoTab Managed Network is business-grade Wi-Fi and internet backup for restaurants, bars and venues, installed and managed by GoTab. We set up the routers and access points your POS devices run on, monitor them around the clock, and manage them alongside the GoTab platform that runs on top. When something goes wrong on a Friday night, one team owns the network and the POS.

Your POS Is Only as Good as the Network Under It

When the internet drops mid-service, nobody calls their internet provider. They call their POS company. With GoTab Managed Network, your network data and your POS and kitchen data sit in the same platform, so you and our support team can see whether a slow ticket came from the internet, the Wi-Fi, a device or the software.

HOW IT WORKS

How GoTab Managed Network Works

Live in minutes, with nothing to configure

Each router is installed and online in about ten minutes and arrives configured, secured and already monitored. Staff tablets and handhelds join with one scan of a QR code, and each extra access point sets itself up the moment it's plugged in.

Guest Wi-Fi that markets for you

Guests connect through a sign-in page with your logo, colors and tonight's specials, then land on your menu, online ordering or loyalty signup. Every email address and marketing opt-in goes straight into GoTab, ready for your next campaign.

Stays online when your internet doesn't

If your main line fails, the network switches automatically to a backup line, optional cellular backup or a manager's phone hotspot. On a hotspot, guest Wi-Fi pauses so orders and payments get the bandwidth, and everything switches back on its own when your line recovers.

Watched around the clock, visible in your dashboard

Every router checks in every five minutes. You get a phone alert when your internet or a key device drops, and the Manager Dashboard shows network health, outages and every device by name, across all your locations.

Already running GoTab OPServer? The two do different jobs. Managed Network keeps your internet connection up and your Wi-Fi healthy. OPServer keeps every GoTab device working together locally if the internet is lost entirely.

Free Wi-Fi that pays you back. Guest Wi-Fi is fully managed and runs on its own network, separate from your POS. Guests accept your terms to get online, and marketing permission is a separate, optional checkbox, so your list is built on guests who said yes.

WHY GOTAB

Why Choose GoTab Managed Network

01

One partner from the internet line to the kitchen screen

Your POS company manages the network too, so there's no back-and-forth between your internet provider, an IT contractor and your POS support line.

02

Guest Wi-Fi that builds your guest list

Branded guest Wi-Fi is included. It promotes your specials while guests connect and sends opted-in emails straight into GoTab, with nothing to export or upload.

03

Guests can't reach your POS

Guest traffic runs on its own isolated network. Guests can't see or reach your registers, printers or kitchen screens.

04

You see what we see

Network health, alerts, device history and failovers live in the same Manager Dashboard you use for sales, menus and staff. Change your Wi-Fi password or block a device yourself, any time.

CUSTOMER STORIES

Trusted by Hospitality Leaders

“Now we're selling more food. All the vendors are noticing more food sales based on our numbers and the guest experience.”

Corby Felsher

Co-owner and Owner-Operator, The Golden Mill

“One of the great things about the QR codes and how well that system functions is that it has enabled us to save on labor because we don't need to have waitstaff in the traditional sense.”

Amanda Guillory

Director of Operations, Bumpy Pickle

“People used to spend 40 minutes of their visit waiting in line. Now they're just sitting with their family and their beer arrives. Before, they'd walk out. Now they stay.”

Jeff Laity

Founder/Owner, The Patch Brewery

“Before, we were doing $2,000 to $3,000 a day in reservations. When we switched to this simplified all-inclusive model, we started booking more than $30,000 a day.”

Bobak Mostaghasi

Founder and CEO, Atomic Golf

“We tried another QR code ordering system in another store and it fell flat. But with GoTab, we're seeing triple or quadruple the sales compared to that other store, and that's with less attendance. Guests love it.”

Jacob Schulman

Vice President of Operations, Schulman Theatres

“Attendance for some events can soar from 5,000–7,000 on an average day, to an astonishing 110,000 guests for our annual Breeders Cup event. GoTab helps the team achieve exceptional agility”

Director of Hospitality, Santa Anita Park

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Check out these common questions about our

Managed Network

What is a managed network for restaurants?

A managed network is Wi-Fi and internet equipment that a provider installs, monitors and maintains for you. With GoTab Managed Network, the same company that runs your POS manages the routers and access points your tablets, handhelds, printers and kitchen screens rely on.

What happens to my POS when the internet goes down?

GoTab Managed Network switches automatically to a backup connection: a second internet line, optional cellular backup, or a manager's phone hotspot. Staff devices stay connected to the Wi-Fi, you get a phone alert, and the network switches back on its own when your main line recovers.

How is Managed Network different from GoTab OPServer?

Managed Network keeps your internet connection up and your Wi-Fi healthy. OPServer is a local server that keeps every GoTab device working together if the internet is lost entirely. Your GoTab team can recommend the right setup for your venue.

Can guests on our Wi-Fi reach our POS?

No. Guest Wi-Fi runs on its own isolated network, so guests can't see or reach your registers, printers or kitchen screens.

How does guest Wi-Fi marketing work?

Guests connect through a sign-in page with your logo and colors, where you can promote a happy hour, a new menu item or your loyalty program. After signing in, they land on your GoTab menu, online ordering or loyalty signup, and every email address and marketing opt-in goes straight into GoTab.

How long does Managed Network installation take?

Each router is installed and online in about ten minutes, with nothing for you to configure. Staff tablets and handhelds join the new network with one scan of a QR code.

Can I see my network in the GoTab Manager Dashboard?

Yes. The Manager Dashboard shows the health of every router and access point, internet speed and outages over the last 24 hours or 7 days, and every connected device by name. Multi-unit operators see all locations in one view, ranked worst-first.
