Arlington’s Innovation Economy Had Notable Year Despite Pandemic

Last month we were honored to get some great hospitality tech innovation notoriety locally from the folks over at ARLNow. GoTab Among Arlington Tech Innovators Receiving Investment in 2020

According to Arlington Economic Development, GoTab’s $6m investment round was one of 16 deals totaling $674.8m in activity last year. With such a close proximity to Washington, D.C., it’s unusual to build a technology company with an exclusive consumer focus. 

Since our September investment round, GoTab has made several advancements:

• Launched the GoTab POS (Point-of-Sale) - a set of inexpensive and best-in-class cloud based tools that you can use to run lean, profitable operations.
• Created a Contactless Ordering Starter Kit - designed to equip operators with all the hardware and software needed to run contactless dine-in, takeout, and delivery operations. 
• Announced a partnership with the Children of Restaurant Employees (CORE) nonprofit organization - GoTab is the first technology partner and a CORE Silver Sponsor. GoTab will donate 5 cents for every transaction processed for participating venues through the platform to CORE.
• Redesigned our Online Ordering Menu - The GoTab team dedicated tremendous time and effort to the redesign and reorganization of its digital menus to make them function more like a traditional print menu. 
• Introduced contactless course firing - A feature that lets GoTab operate as a “virtual food expediter” on the line.
• Added integrations with a variety of hospitality technologies including: 7shifts, DoorDash, MarginEdge, Postmates, and memberships in several regional restaurant and brewery associations, including the California Craft Brewers Association and the Texas Restaurant Association, to name a few.
