A digital house account tied to the guest — not to a credit card — for regulars, VIPs, mug club and country club members
ARLINGTON, VA , September 8, 2026 — GoTab, the entertainment commerce platform, today introduced Customer House Accounts, an enhancement to its existing house account capabilities that gives operators a more flexible digital way to extend a running tab to regulars, VIPs, members, and other trusted guests.
What Are House Accounts and How GoTab's Work
A house account is a guest or member account that lets an approved regular charge purchases at a restaurant, bar, or club and settle up later, instead of paying at the end of every visit. GoTab’s Customer House Accounts take that a step further: the tab is tied to the guest — not to a credit card — so it stays open across visits, and the guest simply checks in to pick it back up.
Customer House Accounts can be issued to regulars, VIPs, members, or other special guests. The account carries a multi-day tab that can be closed out in parts or in full, whenever it’s convenient for the guest and the operator.
While house accounts are a familiar hospitality workflow, GoTab’s approach adds flexibility around guest identity and settlement. A Customer House Account is tied to the guest — the same principle behind one tab across vendors and venues — and charges can only be added when that customer checks in to the tab, so nothing posts to an account without the guest present.
Customer House Accounts vs. Easy Tab®: Multi-Day Tabs Without a Card on File
It also differs from Easy Tab®, which is tied to a specific credit card and closes out the same day. A Customer House Account isn’t tied to a credit card at all, meaning the tab can stay open across visits and settle with any form of payment when it’s time to close out.
“Every operator has a short list of guests who matter most — the regulars, the members, the ones who bring the whole party,” said Mateen Habib, Chief Growth Officer at GoTab. “Customer House Accounts give them a new way to recognize those guests. Extending an account tells someone you know them and you trust them, and that recognition is what turns a frequent visitor into a loyal one. The operator still controls what gets charged and when it settles.”
House Accounts for Bars, Breweries and Country Clubs
The feature is designed for venues where the same guests return often. At bars and nightclubs, regulars and VIP tables can run a tab that doesn’t have to close at last call. At breweries and taprooms, mug club members and regulars keep one account across visits. At country clubs, members can charge across dining and events and settle on their own schedule, without a card on file.
Customer House Accounts are an included GoTab platform feature that can be enabled per location. By helping operators manage trusted guest balances and reduce walkouts and unpaid tabs, the feature protects revenue while giving regulars, VIPs, and members a more flexible way to settle. Operators interested in the feature can request a demo.
