The GoTab and Wine Emotion integration lets guests serve themselves from the wine dispenser while every pour lands on an open GoTab tab. Staff open the tab and hand over a pass; the guest taps it at the dispenser and pours a taste, a flight or a full glass, and each pour is added as a line item.
A server opens the tab in GoTab, pre-authorizes a card and assigns an RFID pass. The guest taps that pass at the Wine Emotion dispenser and pours. Each pour posts to the tab as it happens, so there is no separate card to reconcile and no second check to close.
A pass can carry a spend limit, as a hard stop or a soft cutoff once the guest crosses it. For wine served by the ounce, that is a practical control on a tab the guest is pouring against unattended.
Several passes can sit on the same tab against the same card, so a table or a group pours separately and settles once at the end.
Because pours arrive as ordinary line items, wine by the glass appears in GoTab reporting next to the rest of the venue's sales, by item and by period, rather than in a separate system.
Most valuable where by-the-glass is a serious part of the program and guests are expected to explore: wine bars, hotel lounges, tasting rooms and restaurants running a reserve list.
