When Krystal Hentges was named GoTab’s Vice President of Operations this month, she was stepping into more than a leadership role. She was taking on a mission that speaks to the heart of every operator: building systems and supporting teams in ways that make hospitality more sustainable and more rewarding. Hentges believes that great service begins long before the guest experience. It begins in the back office, in the prep work, and in the daily interactions between managers and their teams.

Running a restaurant or bar that doubles as a sports destination comes with unique challenges. When the doors open before kickoff or a big tournament, the crowd arrives fast, expectations are high, and the pressure on staff is immediate. Large, multi-zone venues need systems that can keep orders moving, reduce bottlenecks, and keep guests satisfied. That’s where the GoTab Kitchen Display System (KDS) comes in. Built for high-volume hospitality environments, the KDS helps operators manage demand surges, streamline communication between the front and back of house, and deliver the kind of frictionless experience today’s guests expect.

During our recent webinar, Unlocking Recurring Revenue with GoTab Memberships and Subscriptions, the GoTab team shared practical insights, case studies, and a live demonstration of how operators can launch and scale these programs.
GoTab has always embraced innovation, a fact recently underscored when a Singaporean internship candidate called us “a pioneer in the use of QR codes in the US.” That same spirit of forward thinking is now shaping pickleball venues across the country. With nearly 20 million players and tens of thousands of new courts, the sport is booming—but the real growth lies in how operators are transforming clubs into full social destinations with food, beverage, and events. This week’s newsletter explores the partnerships, tools, and strategies fueling the next generation of pickleball clubs.
Pickleball is booming, but the game itself is only part of the revenue equation. The real growth engine for pickleball venues lies in how they combine play with hospitality. From casual leagues to corporate outings and social mixers, food and beverage sales, event packages, and efficient operations often determine whether a night of pickleball is fun AND profitable.
Pickleball has exploded in popularity, and courts are filling up across the country. But operators are realizing something critical: courts alone don’t pay the bills. What separates the thriving venues from the rest is how they blend sport with hospitality. Food and beverage (F&B) offerings are emerging as the true engine of growth, delivering steady revenue streams that extend beyond court rentals and ensure long-term viability.

Payment processing is one of the least understood, but most critical, aspects of running a hospitality business. For dine-in theaters, it’s also a golden opportunity to deliver a guest experience so seamless and so immersive, that technology disappears into the background leaving only the magic of the movie and the memory of great food and service.
